Unconventional weddings

January 31, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I hate weddings, I really do. Because they are all the same! They blast the same horrifying, irritating songs, wear the usual traditional outfits and serve similar unhealthy food. Thankfully, I have convinced my sister to omit the whole deejay thing.

Technically, I am the assistant wedding planner for my sister’s wedding, but I have not done a single thing! The bride to me is transforming into a bride-zilla already. Anyway, I am obsessed -seriously obsessed with oncewed.com. They offer great tips, ideas on how to spend as little money as possible for the big day and using your creativity to come up with decorations, gifts and such. So perfect for the tree hugger and couples on budget! The pictures of real weddings are so pretty and  ethereal. Here are some photos that got me so obsessed.

Ex-puh-low-sion

This past 2 weeks has been intense. There is so much drama in school, it reminded me of high school. Trying to remain neutral was hard. Sure, there are a few personalities that just iritates the hell out of you. But I don’t see the point of gossiping( ok, a little gossip is fine) and talking about them all the time. There are many other more important topics that we can talk about, like how Obama needs to buck up.

I think that I have figured out why there are dramas in my class. It has got to do with our personality. We have the over achiever, the go getter, the slacker, the ‘ i shall follow you wherever you go’, the no nonsense, and the hippie liberal but sometime no nonsense(aka ME).  When you put all these people together, you get a ticking time bomb. All of us  have strong personalities and we tend  to impose our beliefs and way of thinking onto others. Most times we are able to tolerate it, but in time of stress like getting the project they have been eyeing, and exam periods, all of us just lose it.

Take for example, myself. Most times I am calm and neutral to my surroundings. When I dislike someone, I just completely ignore the person and move on. But yesterday, I was not calm at all! I was so annoyed and angry because some people talk too much and are trying to make me think like them and act like them. When someone does that to me, I rebel. I felt so trapped yesterday. Even more, knowing that some people are doing everything trying to get what they want and look perfect. I can’t stand gossip mongers too. Okay, there’s only one gossip monger.

There is so much to life than getting As and being the perfect student.

Ps. Post is aimed at the class in general. If I talked to you yesterday, you are still my lovely friend <3
